Gratitude meditation is a simple process of sitting comfortably, putting your hands on your lap or pillow and silently being thankful for everything that you have. As the thought process occurs, gratitude can fill your entire being with satisfaction. This feeling will penetrate every fiber of your body and fill you with a great sense of well being and inner peace. Gratitude is often overlooked by those who practice it regularly but the power of expressing gratitude is one of the most important keys to unlock the secrets of success. For those who have yet to learn how to meditate, gratitude meditation can be learned through guided meditation and practiced as an everyday habit. In addition to the outward benefits of practicing gratitude meditation, the inner benefits are just as powerful.

To see the actual results you need to try it yourself. You can start bu simply closing your eyes and listing the things you are thankful for early in the morning or before going to bed. You should start with at least 5 things you are thankful for in a day and later increase as time passes by. It can be as small as waking up and making your bed or as big as getting a promotion, simply count your blessings. Also keeping a gratitude diary or journal can be another alternative.

When we are grateful for the things that we have, we tend to look to find more things to be grateful for. Our universe is teeming with blessings and all that we have to do is take a moment to feel them. Your daily experience of gratitude opens you up to receive more blessings from the universe around you each and every day. The true value of gratitude meditation lies in starting small. Although the focus should always be on the present, there is a no such hard and fast rule. When you sit quietly in the morning to visualize all of the many blessings that you are have, you put all of your conscious energy into your effort to be grateful. You begin the process of being grateful for all of the little things in your life, rather than focusing on all of the big things that are missing from your world.
