Okinawa trip🌊🍱🍣🏄🏼♂️🏊🏻♀️
Me and my friend Robert visited the islands of Okinawa in the year 2020. Okinawa lies in the East China Sea between Taiwan and Japan's mainland. Okinawa is one of the amazing Japanese prefectures popular for its tropical climate, broad beaches, and obviously coral reefs. Best for scuba diving and snorkeling.
We took the flight from Haneda Int'l Airport, Tokyo which is the nearest airport to central Tokyo. This airport was about an hour away from the place we lived whereas Narita Int'l Airport is 2 hours away from central Tokyo. As we took suggestions and recommendations from a lot of youtube channels and google, we took the tour for 3 nights and 4 days. It was a fun sea beach experience with wonderful peaceful surroundings and an escape from the crowded hustle and bustle of Tokyo. We landed in the Naha Airport which lies on the biggest island of Okinawa. These 4 days and 3-night trips of Okinawa memory will be with me for my entire life.😊.This plan allowed us to visit Okinawa’s history, culture, and awesome natural environment.
Day 1:
The command bunker
Okinawa World, Culture Kingdom, and Gyokusendo
The immense power of the Eisa dance make it a must-see. Also, take in a habu (Ryukyu pit viper) show and explore underground caverns.Shurijo Castle Park (Naha City)
Day 2:
Okinawa Bullfight Experience (Uruma City)
# Sad part of day 2, All of a sudden there was a big typhoon so we had to head back to the hotel.
Day 3 :
Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium (Motobu Town)
It was an enormous tank where we could enjoy the panoramic view of fish from the Kuroshio Sea and coral being raised on a magnificent scale.
Day 4 :
Busena Beach
Transportation on the island
Public transportation such as monorail, buses, and taxis are the main transportation on the main island of Okinawa. If you wish to move around more freely, a rental car is a convenient option. On remote islands, using rental cars, rental bicycles, or rental motorcycles is recommended because there are not many public transportation options. Choose transportation that fits the purpose of your trip and plan appropriately.
Rental Cars
Renting a car would be the best opinion if you are visiting Okinawa. My reason behind recommending renting a car is Taxi fare is expensive, public transport such as bus has really limited routes and a long wait, you will only find one railway line and too limited. There are many rental car companies in Okinawa. Check comparison sites before the reservation, or rent a car along with flight and hotel for smooth processing after your arrival. You can rent a car at tourist information centers at Naha Airport after your arrival, but, depending on the season, sometimes rental cars may not be available on the day. It is recommended that you make your reservation before your trip. There is a pick-up service from the airport to rental car offices. Be sure to confirm when making your reservation.
Taxi
Rental Bicycles and Motorcycles
Renting bicycles could be a healthy alternative way to visit this beautiful island for short distances or you can hire motorcycles which will definitely help to avoid unnecessary traffic jams and help save time and helps in easy access to various locations. The Tourist Information center at the airport will help you with rental stores. Even some accommodation and tourism bureaus provide lending services too. For those planning to ride around Naha City, there is a cycling share service called ChuraChari, and applications are available from the staff at the rental spots, or from the dedicated website. You can even find different Docomo share bike stations in a different part of the island, all you have to do is an online registration and download an app on App Store for iOS and market for Android users. Don’t forget to protect yourself from sunburns and heat stroke while riding.
Yui Rail
First Monorail and only existing railway lineYui Rail connects 19 stations, from Naha Airport Station, the gateway to Okinawa, to Tedako-Uranishi Station in about 40 minutes. Connected to the airport, the monorail is useful for accessing popular tourist spots, such as Kokusai Street, central Naha, and Shurijo Castle Park. The 1-day ticket, which can be bought at all stations, is the best option when using the monorail multiple times in a single day.
Buses
Here you can find Airport Limousine that provides transport from the airport to your hotel, as well as tour buses that provide efficient transport around the main tourist sites. And Express Shuttle Bus you saved the hassle of driving in a different country. It will surely take you to your desired destination smoothly and directly. #Remember you cant use Transport IC cards here in Okinawa like you usually use in the Kanto area.
Express Ferry
To avoid traffic congestion, we recommend using a high-speed boat to explore the northern part of the main island of Okinawa. The high-speed boat connects from Naha to Motobu, the northern part of Okinawa main island, in 75 minutes.
*They operate from April to November
