The Japanese government proposed “Phased Measures for Resuming Cross-Border Travel,” in which it plans to establish a special quota for cross-border business travelers and others for entry into and departure from Japan, apart from general cross-border travel procedures.
(From January 14th, 2021, it will be temporarily suspended)
2. Quarantine has been strengthened
(1) For the time being, all nationals arriving from the areas mentioned in paragraph 1 above within 14 days of their application for entry into Japan are subjected to PCR checks.
(2) All nationals entering from all regions are required to wait 14 days at a quarantine station chief-designated place and refrain from using public transportation.
(1) The Japanese government limits passenger flights arriving from China or the Republic of Korea to either Narita International Airport (NRT) and Kansai International Airport (KIX).
(2) Passenger leaving from China or the Republic of Korea has been suspended by the Japanese government.
(3) Inviting airlines to take steps to reduce the number of arriving passengers in Japan, such as reducing the number of passenger entry flights, in order to ensure that quarantine policy are properly implemented. Proper precautions, including supplying information and sending advisories, will be taken to ensure that Japanese citizens and foreign nationals who wish to return to Japan have a smooth return.
3. Suspension of the validity of the visa
The validity of the visas mentioned below has been revoked.
(1) Single-entry and multiple-entry visas provided by Japanese embassies or consulates general in China (including Hong Kong and Macau) and the Republic of Korea by March 8, 2020.
4. Foreign nationals with particular extraordinary conditions are allowed to enter.
Foreign nationals from countries/regions where access is denied, foreign nationals who have already been granted visas whose validity has been revoked, and foreign nationals who are subject to a temporary suspension of visa exemption steps must apply for a suitable visa at Japan's embassies, consulates, and consular offices.
5.State of emergency
The following prefectures have been declared an emergency by the Japanese government.
• Prefectures targeted: Tokyo, Osaka, Hyogo, and Kyoto
• Duration: until the 11th of May 2021
Travel and Safety Advice
Please take precautions, such as wearing a mask and cleaning your hands if you have a cough.
If you get sick or wounded and need to go to the hospital when in Japan, your medical bills could be very high, so make sure you get the correct travel insurance.
Nepal Travel Information
The government of Nepal has decided to ban Domestic travel for 3rd May 2021 and International travel from 6th May 2021. But two international flights a week will be operated between Nepal and India under Bubble facility. Whereas chartered flights should follow the terms and conditions of the Nepal Government.
45 districts of Nepal have implemented a curfew to reduce covid-19 cases. Basic grocery and essential stores are allowed to open for a short period of time till 9 am and remain closed the rest of the day.
